Licensed Installation for New Builds, Renovations and Commercial Sites

If you’re installing a new gas appliance, switching from electric to gas, or building a property that needs a complete gas infrastructure layout, your gas line needs to be professionally designed, installed and tested by a licensed technician.
At CS Plumbing Services, we design and install new gas lines and extend existing systems for both residential and commercial customers across Wollongong. All gas work is completed in accordance with NSW Fair Trading and Australian Standard AS/NZS 5601, and is fully pressure-tested and certified on completion..

Our Gas Line Services

Full gas line installation for new homes and renovations
Gas pipe extensions for new appliances or outdoor connections
Upgrading undersized or outdated pipework
Gas meter relocation or new meter prep
Residential and commercial system design
Pressure testing and flow rate optimisation

We follow all NSW gas fitting requirements and provide a Certificate of Compliance for Gas Work on completion of each job, as required under the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017.

Why Pipe Sizing and Pressure Matter

Incorrect pipe sizing or layout can cause pressure drops and prevent appliances from functioning properly. We calculate flow rates and maximum demand before installation, ensuring your gas supply meets the performance needs of every connected appliance, whether it’s a single cooktop or a multi-zone commercial kitchen.

New Gas Line Installations

We install gas systems for:

New home builds
Extensions and major renovations
Granny flats and secondary dwellings
Commercial kitchens and cafés
Industrial properties needing process gas

We work closely with builders, project managers and homeowners to ensure the layout is code-compliant and tailored to the structure’s footprint.

Gas Line Extensions and Upgrades

Adding a new gas heater, BBQ or appliance? We can extend your existing line safely and without disrupting other parts of the system. We’ll inspect your current layout and advise whether any upgrades or pressure balancing are required to support additional demand.

Legal Requirements in NSW

All new gas lines and extensions must be:

Installed by a licensed gasfitter
Pressure tested and leak checked
Compliant with the Gas and Electricity (Consumer Safety) Act 2017
Issued with a Certificate of Compliance for Gas Work (CCGW)

We handle all certification, documentation and safety checks required by NSW Fair Trading.

Common signs of a gas leak include a strong gas smell, hissing sounds near gas lines, dead plants around the gas line area, dizziness or headaches, and unusually high gas bills. If you suspect a leak, turn off the gas supply (if safe), leave the area, and contact a licensed gas plumber immediately.

Yes. Gas line work must be performed by a licensed gas fitter to meet Australian safety standards and regulations. Using an unlicensed person can be dangerous and may void insurance or compliance requirements.

Yes. A plumber can install or extend gas lines for new appliances such as gas cooktops, ovens, BBQ points, and heaters. The gas line must be correctly sized and pressure-tested to ensure safe and reliable performance.

Gas lines should be checked if you notice any issues, after renovations, when installing new appliances, or if your property is older. Regular inspections can help detect leaks, corrosion, or pressure problems early and keep your gas system safe.
