AS 4775 and NSW WHS Compliance — What the Plumbing Must Meet

Under AS 4775, safety showers and eyewash stations must deliver:

• A minimum flow rate of 76 litres per minute for safety showers
• A minimum flow rate of 1.5 litres per minute for eyewash stations
• Tepid water (between 16°C and 38°C) where practicable, to encourage adequate flushing time
• Unobstructed access within 10 seconds travel from the hazard
• Hands-free or stay-open operation for a minimum 15-minute flush
